#JoinTheTribe Update

Food Tribe’s goal since day one has been and always will remain the same: Connect good food with good people. To all of you good people who have donated to our Indiegogo crowdfunding campaign - we have not forgotten about you.

From April to May of 2017, we launched a crowdfunding campaign in order to create a much better and innovative all-encompassing restaurant review platform for the great city of Los Angeles, and eventually the whole world.

We were able to raise 80% of our lofty goal due to the generosity of all of our wonderful supporters to guide us along our goal of becoming the world’s first cause-based restaurant review platform. This generosity will also allowed us to donate over 100 meals to the LA Food Bank.

The reason for this is quite simply. As we all know, #RestaurantReviewsSuck.

Although, you’ll notice the you haven't received your perks and the review platform has not been released yet. And for that, #WeSuck!

We want every one of our valued #TribeMembers to know that all jokes aside, we appreciate you and are deeply apologetic that we're late.

Building something great takes time and it will all be worth it when it does eventually get released. Start-up problems!

However, the money you all have contributed is undoubtedly being put to good use. We only get to release Food Tribe one time, and we want it to be perfect to make sure all of you good people are connected to good food in the best way possible.

Since the campaign, we have been working on fulfillment and strengthening our team. We have hired two new interns to help increase our outreach, promote our brand and simply create awesome written/visual content. They will be working tirelessly to build up our website, blog, social media, photo, video and marketing efforts.

We have also relaunched our gift card website, which is an integral part of the Food Tribe cause. Giving back is at the core of everything we do, and the gift cards play right alongside that effort. Sign up today to build rewards and save money when visiting all your favorite LA restaurants, while helping feed the less fortunate all at the same time.

We were also featured in EaterLA! This was some great publicity for Food Tribe and we are excited to keep up our outreach efforts and partner with more awesome brands in the area.

Last but not least, we were accepted into a pitch competition in Philadelphia! The National Black MBA Association is pledging more than $60,000 to black entrepreneurs in the Scale-Up Business Challenge. We are pushing hard to make Food Tribe the winner of this competition, which will bring home a $50,000 prize.

We couldn’t be more thankful to all of our supporters who have helped us get to this point, and we are excited for what the future holds. We wish things had unfolded quicker, but we don’t want to give our #TribeMembers anything but the best product. You are going to have a restaurant review platform to be proud of, and we simply apologize that it is taking longer than anticipated!

We look forward to providing future updates, but in the meantime - keep eating, good people.

Special thanks to all of our Indiegogo partners, as well.
