Hey Guys,

Terence here, founder of Food Tribe a caused based digital gift card + loyalty program for Los Angeles area restaurants, cafes, eateries, and coffee shops.

This year, I hope to expand Food Tribe's offerings by launching a connected restaurant review platform who's goal is to end hunger.

Beginning at today at 12:00 PM PST, Food Tribe's first ever crowdfunding campaign will officially be live on Indiegogo!

Restaurant reviews suck, and I want to fix them. I believe that  foodies and restaurants, when unified,  have the power to help change the conversation around food.

I started Food Tribe as a result of being frustrated with current restaurant review platforms.

Restaurant reviews like this:

"The risotto with scallops is where hope goes to die."

...are really confusing and ultimately caused me to miss out on some good #eeeeeats based on the opinions of others.

After some conversation with friends who were equally frustrated, I decided I wanted to combine my love of food, technology and giving back to start a company I believe can create community and honest feedback.

Restaurant Reviews Suck

For Foodies: 16% of all restaurant reviews are fake, so for hungry eaters like you and me, that means a lot of wasted dollars.

For Restaurants: 1 bad review = 30 lost customers! Crappy reviews are losing good restaurants potential customers. With you're help, we'll raise the $8000 needed to design, build, test, launch and promote a prototype of The Food Tribe, a restaurant review platform where your restaurant reviews support offline programs feeding the needy.

Social entrepreneurs everywhere are creating solutions to major problems and making them fun, which is how Food Tribe was born. I want to create a restaurant review platform that could provide a way for restaurants and their patrons to address LA's local hunger issue.

One in seven people in Los Angeles County experiences food insecurity.

I believe that Los Angeles' exploding food scene—foodies and the restaurants they love—is the perfect group to address this problem.

Food Tribe's Indiegogo campaign is taking place from April 18th - May 31st, 2017. During that time, you'll be able to purchase perks in order to help raise the funds we need.
